Fine Art Finder: A Family-Run Gallery, Built with AI

Fine Art Finder is a new online and physical art gallery founded by Design Monkey directors Sam and Siobhan Barnes. It's a family-run business with a Tadlow showroom and a fully headless website, built from the ground up using the development tools that have only become viable in the last 18 months.

The gallery is built around an established group of artists, including Alison Johnson, Brenda Herd, John Horsewell, and Nigel Cooke, presented through a site engineered around SEO, headless architecture, and AI-assisted development. The brief, set by Sam, was to put modern build tooling, search-first structure, and a personable family-run gallery into one project, with a Royston showroom supporting the digital collection.

    Key Features and Achievements

    Headless Architecture, Lovable Build

The site was built in Lovable with a fully headless setup, with the front end decoupled from the content layer for speed, flexibility, and clean separation of concerns. Components were generated under direction and reviewed at every step, keeping technical control with the team rather than the tooling.

    Supabase Backend, SEO-First Schema

A Supabase backend handles artwork, artist, and editorial data, surfaced through a structured schema covering Product, Person, LocalBusiness, and BreadcrumbList markup. URLs, headings, internal linking, and metadata were engineered around organic search from the first commit, no plugins making the decisions.

    AI-Assisted Editorial Pipeline

AI handles the heavy lifting on artwork descriptions, artist bios, and blog drafts, with Sam and Siobhan shaping every piece in the gallery voice. The assistant gets us to a researched first pass quickly so the human work can go into the bit collectors actually notice.

    In-House DM SEO Tool

Fine Art Finder runs on the DM SEO Tool, our own AI-assisted SEO platform, used to guide keyword targeting, on-page optimisation, content planning, and ongoing technical monitoring. The gallery effectively gets agency-grade SEO support baked into its day-to-day operation.

Art Gallery Web Design project overview

A modern build stack and a family-run gallery, brought together in one project.

    Client Impact
Fine Art Finder launches as a fully headless React build, on Lovable and Supabase, with structured data, clean URLs, and AI assistance integrated into both the development process and the editorial pipeline. The site has been engineered for search from the first commit, and the showroom in Tadlow gives collectors the option to view works in person, with local SEO and Google Business Profile connecting the two.

For Design Monkey, it's both a new family business and a working demonstration of what a 2026 build stack looks like when technical quality, AI assistance, and personable customer service are designed together rather than bolted on.

    Ongoing Collaboration
The platform continues to evolve as the collection grows, with new artists, editorial content, and AI features added over time. Because Fine Art Finder is run hands-on by Sam and Siobhan, build improvements are tested on the gallery in real conditions before they're deployed elsewhere.

    Visit Fine Art Finder

“We wanted to build a gallery from the ground up using the tools that have only just become viable. Headless front end, AI assistance through the build, AI in the content pipeline, and SEO baked in from the first commit. Fine Art Finder is the result, our own family-run gallery, and a working example of what's now possible when modern build tooling is put in the hands of a team that knows what to do with it.”
